‘Passion gets you started, consistency keeps you going’

This is one of many phrases I call to mind in a bid to improve.

Just like many things in my life, I start but never finish. Mid-way, I decide to take a break, and next thing I know, I stop altogether.

Unlike those many things, no matter how many breaks I take, no matter how far off I am, I’m always drawn back to writing. My passion never betrays. It meets me at a place where consistency fails to carry me- hence, I’m always starting over.

I promise myself to be better- I really do! but somehow, I find myself breaking that promise.

And so, here I am- again!

Life gets in the way, no doubt but with every break, with every stop, with every alternative route taken and every moment lived outside what passion started in us, there is some kind of growth allowing us become more insightful and knowledgeable.

This gives us more to talk about, to write about, to share with each other as our cups of experiences fill up- a little bit or to the brim and overflowing. So, don’t give up on the things you love doing even when the busyness of life causes you to take unplanned breaks.

I’m giving myself another chance, to try one more time- again. You should do that too!

Hopefully this time, while offering a heartfelt thanks to ‘passion’, I’ll be able to fully embrace’ consistency’ and keep writing!
