This is a reminder for all those out there, who like me on this fateful day feel overwhelmed with how stagnant things currently are in our lives.

‘You are not a mistake, not alive today by chance and definitely not a waste of time’.

Sovereign God knew exactlly what He was doing when he formed you, when He knitted you intricately in your mother’s womb. He saw our unformed being and our days are already written out. This is the truth I am consitently reminded of in Psalms 139.

Before David became king, he was a shepherd boy who looked after his father’s flock. David stayed in the pasture and carried out his job’s description. He fought lions and bears and was so used to fighting them that when time came and he was faced with Goliath, Goliath was no bigger than the lions and bears he was used to.(1 Samuel 16&17)

So as you sit in your pasture, in the field where God has placed you, what are you tending?

Each day, God assigns us a task and no matter how small and menial it may seem, do it. Remain faithful and patient, carry on keeping the ‘lions and bears’ you face at bay. They could be negative people or thoughts, the desire to give up, the enemy who is trying to steal the dream God has placed in your heart. God has not forgotten about you. Your name has been engraved on the palm of His hands and it’s permanent, never going to be wiped off. This is your period of training, to prepare you for the real enemies you are going to face at the next level. When that time comes, they won’t seem any bigger than what you’ve been through and so, all you’re going to need to fight them off is a stone and sling with no stress because God will be with you through it all.

So just chill, heed His call for you to rest in Him and let God reveal His glory through you however He pleases and at the time He has stipulated in His book.
