Coming across this verse, I wondered why my heart desires to utter these words but my actions tell otherwise. I felt downhearted because I am not where I want to be.

Just as the Holy Spirit encouraged me, I want to encourage you.

Don’t feel upset that the love you have for God doesn’t run as deeply as you would like it to at this present time. Remember that your walk with God is a journey which involves you getting to know and learn about Him each day. It’s a walk, not a run!

Maturity takes time. It doesn’t happen instantly, or in a few days or months. It requires a lot of learning, a lot of experiences, a lot of growth.

As your journey progresses on, your love for God grows and deepens and you find yourself serving Abba Father out of love and not obligation.

So, to you reading this, take it easy on yourself. First, trust in God’s love for you and then walk before you begin to run. Also, pray! God knows the desires of your heart but He would also like to hear from you. Tell him your struggles and ask for His help, for Him to teach you His love. Don’t give up, keep at it with your eyes completely fixed on Jesus Christ who is our great high priest(Hebrews 4:14) and who is at the right hand of God interceding for us(Romans 8:34).

As we continue to grow, I pray we mature to the point where we can confidently say, as David did:-

You're all I want in heaven! You're all I want on earth!
