Baker!Cake!Life!

First of all, it is important to note here that a cake does not bake itself.

A cake is abstract in the baker’s head and only comes to existence when the baker puts together all the necessary ingredients and begins the baking process.

A compulsory step is that the batter has to go into an oven. It must be subjected to a high temperature for a specific time, if not, it’s just a batter of various components. Reactions have to take place, moulding has to take place for the batter to transform and become set.

Next thing that follows is decorations. In order to excite the eyes before the mouth gives a verdict, the baker decides to adorn it with more sweetness, colour and texture. It goes from looking ordinary to extraordinary.

From separate ingredients to a blobby mixture to a bland-looking treat and then finally to an eye pleasing display, the baking process occurred.

A baker knows exactly what kind of cake he/she intends on baking and so, sets up the right conditions for cake formation.

I sometimes imagine God as a baker who has a recipe written out …

This is one of my thoughts that keep me going:- God is the baker, I am the cake and my life is the baking process!

Before we can be who God has destined for us to be, we have to go through the process.

We cannot skip the oven and onto the decorating table. We have to go through the heat trusting that we will not get burnt because our baker is consistently checking on us. He has set the conditions right and is waiting outside the oven to crown our efforts and beautifuly display us to the world for the glory of His holy name.

Everything we face can be thought of as ingredients that make us. Our life experiences, being looked at singly, may not make sense, but one day, they will all congregate and will be the reason we come out fully formed. So whatever you may be facing, hang in there and keep trusting in God who is ‘baking’ you.

In the peace and grace of God, I leave you with these Bible verses:- 1 Corinthians 10:13, Isaiah 43:2, Psalms 27:14
